Seller code of conduct

Petsouk enables you to reach hundreds of millions of customers. We strive to ensure a fair and trustworthy buyer and seller experience. At Petsouk, we expect you to adhere to the code of conduct principles outlined below. Violation of the code of conduct principles may result in the loss of your selling privileges and removal from Petsouk Marketplace.

Seller Code of Conduct Principles:

  • Adhere to all applicable laws and abide by all Petsouk policies.
  • Maintain current account information.
  • Never misrepresent yourself.
  • Always act in a manner that ensures a trustworthy experience for Petsouk customers.
  • Never list products that may cause harm to Petsouk customers.
  • Never engage in any misleading, inappropriate, indecent or offensive behavior. This applies to all your activities, including but not limited to:
    • Information provided on your account
    • Information provided in listings, content or images
    • Communication between you and Petsouk or you and our customers. ‘You’ includes all representatives of your Seller Account
  • Act fairly at all times. Unfair behavior includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Behavior that could be deemed as manipulation or "gaming" of any part of the buying or selling experience
    • Actions that could be perceived as manipulating customer reviews, including by directly or indirectly contributing false, misleading or inauthentic content
    • Activities that could be perceived as attempting to manipulate Petsouk's search results or sales rankings
    • Actions that intentionally damage another seller, their listings or their ratings
    • Only maintain one Seller account for each region in which you sell, unless you have a legitimate business need to open a second account and all of your accounts are in good standing. Examples of a legitimate business justification include:
      • You own multiple brands and maintain separate businesses for each
      • You manufacture products for two distinct and separate companies
      • You are recruited for an Petsouk programme that requires separate accounts

Keeping Your Account Information Secure

The security of your account is important to us because it is the pivot to your business. We recommend the following best practices to reinforce the security of your Petsouk account:

Seller Hub - Security best practices

  • Set up Two-Step Verification for all of your Petsouk accounts, whereby OTPs are generated and sent on registered mobile number. You can reinforce your password security in this way as you are required to enter an additional code from your phones when signing in to your account. This can greatly reduce the risk of unauthorized access if the password is compromised.
  • Pick strong passwords that are different for each of your accounts and change your password regularly.
  • Choosing the same password for each of your online accounts is like using the same key to lock your home, car and office – if a criminal gains access to one, all of them are compromised.
  • Use a long password made up of numbers, letters and symbols.
  • Avoid using publicly-available information (For example: your phone number or date of birth, etc.) in your passwords.
  • Make sure that the email address or the mobile number that you use to sign-in to your account is up-to-date. For more information on how to change your email address or password, see Change Login Settings.
  • If your business has multiple users, then have each user set up their own account and then link your accounts. Ensure that you regularly review secondary users who have access to your account and revoke access to users who no longer need access.
  • Review your Notification Settings and ensure that you have the required setup to receive notifications of important actions being taken on your account. Beware of phishing. Petsouk never asks you to verify sensitive information via email. Submit such information only when completing an order on our website, registering to sell on Petsouk or updating account information in Seller Hub.
  • If your account has been compromised.
  • If you believe your Petsouk account has been compromised, follow the steps below:
  • Change your Seller Hub login password. If you are not able to login to your account, contact Seller Support.
  • Review the following information in your account to determine if any changes have been made:
    • Email address preferences
    • Payment information
    • User permissions
    • Petsouk storefront details
    • Listing and condition notes
    • Your email account might have been compromised as well. Consider changing the email address associated with your account and use a different password for your email account.
  • If you receive emails or links that you suspect are phishing attempts, report them to stop-phishing@petsouk.co.in
  • Contact Seller Support to report that your account has been compromised.

Can we put a link on our Web site to our products on Petsouk.in?

Yes, you can place a link on your website to the products you have listed on Petsouk. However, you cannot provide a link from the Petsouk website to your own website.

Do I have to have a land line to complete this process, or can I use a cell phone?

For security reasons, you can only use a fixed land line for the PIN verification process. If you use your telephone line to connect to the internet, our verification process will provide further instructions for how to complete the PIN verification process.

I closed my browser; how do I get to the next step of the verification process?

Why can't I view some pages on Seller Hub?

The rights and permissions associated with your account determine which pages you can view on Seller Hub.

By default, the user who registers a new Seller Hub account has access to every page and feature. This user, the primary account administrator, can use the User Permissions feature in Seller Hub to grant other users access to their Seller Hub account and control which features they can see.

If you are unable to access a Seller Hub feature or help topic because you do not have the necessary rights and permissions, ask your primary account administrator to give you access.

For more information about assigning and modifying user rights and permissions, account administrators can refer to the Set and edit User Permissions help topic in Seller Hub.

Why isn't my bank account information accepted?

Here are some common reasons why bank account information is rejected:

  • You have entered an incorrect bank account number. Check the number using a cheque and re-enter.
  • You have entered the incorrect account type. Choose the correct account type that you have with your bank.

Note: All three account types — Current, Savings and Overdraft, are accepted as account types.

  • You have entered an incorrect IFSC code. Please contact your bank to get the correct IFSC code.
  • You have entered an incorrect beneficiary name. Please ensure the name matches what your bank has on record.
  • Your bank is not located in India. Only accounts from banks located in India that support payments via NEFT/RTGS are accepted.

For additional help on updating your Bank Account Information, please see the Bank Account Information help topic.

Product Detail Page Rules

1. Customers will first learn about your offers on a product detail page. The policies below ensure each product detail page covers a single unique item. This helps give customers a clear and consistent buying experience. In general, you will need to:

  • Understand and comply with Petsouk's policies on product safety and compliance. For more information visit the Category and Product Restrictions page.
  • Comply with any relevant style guides and refrain from using HTML, JavaScript, or other code.
  • Exclude inappropriate content such as obscene or offensive materials, links or contact information, plot spoilers, reviews or requests for reviews, and advertising.
  • Accurately categorize and describe your products.
  • Create new detail pages for new products or versions.
  • Refrain from creating duplicate pages for a product that already has a detail page.
  • Only create valid "variations" that relate to the primary product. For more details, please see the Variations Policy.
  • Not change the existing PSIN in the event you wish to sell a product under a different trademark (that is, brand or manufacturer name) to that of an existing PSIN (or where an existing PSIN has been created without a brand or manufacturer). Instead, create a new PSIN for that trademarked product.
  • Don't use HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, or other types of code in your product detail pages. As a special case, you can use line breaks (</br>) as necessary in the description. Comply with the relevant style guide for the product you're listing. You can find general rules that apply to all products in the Petsouk Services Quick Start Style Guide. Some types of product have extra style guidelines.
  • Comply with Petsouk listing standards for any product sold on Petsouk. Failure to do so creates a negative customer experience and may result in your selling privileges being temporarily or permanently removed. This includes but is not limited to the following:
    • Detail pages may not feature or contain Prohibited Content or Restricted Products.
    • All products must be accurately categorized and classified. To learn more about classifying your products correctly, see our help pages on Product Classifier,Browse Tree Guide, and PSIN Creation Policy.
    • Product titles, product descriptions, and bullet points must be clearly written and help customers understand the product.
    • All product images must meet Petsouk general image standards as well as any applicable category-specific image guidelines.
  • Details of availability, price, or condition. When listing a product for sale, sellers must follow the Petsouk offer listing process. The correct time and place to list such details is during the offer listing process, where sellers are given an opportunity to note their item's condition, quantity, price, and other details that are relevant to a specific listing as opposed to the PSIN as there may be multiple listings which share a single PDP.
  • External contact information such as but not limited to: Phone numbers, physical mail addresses, e-mail addresses, social media handles, or website URLs.
  • Links or references to alternative ordering information (such as links to other websites for placing orders), or alternative shipping offers (such as free shipping).
  • Reviews, quotes, or testimonials.
  • Requests for positive customer reviews.
  • Adverts, promotional material, or watermarks on images, photos, or videos.
  • Time-sensitive information, such as dates of tours, seminars, or lectures.
  • Display of trademarks on generic products.
  • Information containing software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, dest
